Sustainable Design Standards
What are Sustainable Design Standards (SDS)?
This first edition of the Richmond Sustainable Design Standards (SDS) outlines the sustainable design criteria that are required for City projects and projects constructed on City property. The City of Richmond Department of Public Works (DPW) is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of Special Capital Projects throughout the City. These SDS have been developed to support the City’s vision for an equitable, sustainable, and beautiful City for its 300th anniversary in 2037.
